We are a very welcoming, friendly and helpful club. Our current members range from absolute novice to professional and we work in black and white to colour, film to digital, studio to location. Our current membership fee is £26 per year with reductions for senior citizens.
We meet every Thursday evening at 7.30pm (at the Carleton Community Centre) for more than 45 Thursdays of the year.
During our evenings we have a very varied programme. A few of which are:-
* Back to Basics - where we start at the beginning of how to take a photograph; * Photoshop nights when demonstrations are given in most aspects of image tweaking; * Various competitions * Studio Nights, where we have a model (or two) and set up our professional lighting and backdrops and give advice on taking the perfect shot. * Table top night is also a favourite, where we set up items, sometimes within a theme, and again use the lights etc to get that perfect photograph. * Guest speakers from all over the region who give talks and slide shows of their work (it’s always good to see the work of others for inspiration). See our Programme for a full listing of events.
Whether you are a novice or an expert in photography, need to learn or just socialise with other photographers, you will always be more than welcome at Pontefract Camera Club.
