Exhibition in Pontefract Museum

1-poster_cameraclub_exhibition_2013

Welcome to our Web Site

Pontefract Camera Club was inaugurated in 1920! We have active and lively members with a vast amount of expertise in all aspects of photography and we welcome all levels of camera users.

Our members are photographers of all ages and experience. We use digital, film and slide, with cameras ranging from professional SLR to small compacts.

Many members are skilled users of Adobe Photoshop and can teach you how to tweak your photos and boost your creative skills to produce some of the best photography around.

We have professional lighting and backdrops for budding portrait / fashion photographers. We have people who are experts in landscape, fashion, modelling and portrait photography, wildlife, still life, candid and contemporary photography.

      You can learn how to:-

  • arrange, frame and compose your shots.
  • work with light, reflectors and filters.
  • tweak your photos in either traditional darkroom or Adobe Photoshop for digital users.
  • mount and present your photographs professionally - ready for exhibition and competitions.
  • process / print your photos.

All members have the use of our calibrating equipment (Gretag Macbeth Eye-One) to calibrate monitors and printers to obtain the best results.

We are members of the PAGB (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) and the YPU (Yorkshire Photographic Union) - two of our members are leading lights of the YPU.

Please visit our Galleries to see some amazing photographs and read all about our members, their inspirations and ideas.
